Use the LastPass Mac App

LastPass has a simple, single-window interface with a search bar across the top and an Add button in the upper right, for creating new entries for sites, notes, and Web forms. Creating entries is a. It wasn't the LastPass app/program. I hardly used Edge for that very reason as I depend on LastPass for entrance to all my sites. Since Edge is a work in progress and it has progressed; LastPass has started working well in Edge. It is still a tad buggy, and does not work as well as in Chrome. However it is definitely usable in Edge.

Install and log in

You can download and install the LastPass Mac App, then launch it and log in.

  1. Download and install the LastPass Mac app from LastPass at https://lastpass.com/misc_download2.php#app-for-mac.
  2. Once installed, click Open launch it.
  3. Enter your username and Master Password, then click Log In.
    You have installed and logged in to the LastPass Mac App, and your Vault is now displayed.
Once you have installed the app and logged in, you can use the LastPass Password Manager app and manage your settings:

How do I install the LastPass for Safari app extension on my Mac?

The Safari app extension is supported on macOS 10.12 (Sierra) or later. Please note that the Safari Legacy extension will continue to function on Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) or earlier, however, that extension will no longer receive updates due to Apple restrictions.

Install and log in

  1. Download the LastPass Safari app extension.
  2. Locate the download, then double-click on the LastPass.dmg file to open.
  3. Click and drag the LastPass app icon to the Applications folder. If you had installed a previous version of the Safari app extension and are prompted that the LastPass.app already exists in the Applications folder, click Replace.
  4. Open the Applications folder, then double-click on the LastPass app and click Open.
  5. In the LastPass Safari extension app window, enter your username and Master Password, then click Log In.
  6. When prompted, click Open Safari to enable the LastPass for Safari extension. If this prompt is dismissed without enabling, you can manually enable the Safari extension:
    1. In the Menu Bar, go to Safari > Preferences.
    2. Select the Extensions tab.
  7. Check the box to enable the LastPass option in the left navigation.
    You're all set! If you ever need to log out, you can log back in using the LastPass app icon in the Menu bar or via the LastPass Safari web browser extension.
