The PySimple GUI is cool and amazing. It contains only one python file compared to. This PyQt5 tutorial shows how to use Python 3 and Qt to create a GUI on Windows, Mac or Linux. It even covers creating an installer for your app. PyQt is a library that lets you use the Qt GUI framework from Python. Qt itself is written in C.

Welcome to LearnPyQt, the complete guide to building GUI apps with Python & Qt. Creating GUI apps with Python allows you to rapidly convert your scripts and utilities into professional-looking applications. Qt is a professional, mature and feature-full library for building GUIs. There are two wrappers for using Qt from Python — PyQt and PySide. Both give you all the power of the Qt5. PyQt is a set of Python bindings developed for Nokia's Qt application framework. Moreover, the PyQt framework runs on all platforms supported by Qt including Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. There are two different sets of bindings: PyQt5 supports Qt v5; and the older PyQt4 supports Qt v4 and earlier. KDevelop showing a code navigation widget, this time for Python files Screenshot. Development

Development happens in the 5.15 and dev branches of the pyside-setup repository. The top level repository has the following submodules:

  • sources/pyside2-tools: pyside2-lupdate

Contributions follow the standard process.

It is helpful to have debug binaries and/or symbols for Python available. On macOS you will need to build the Python interpreter with debug symbols by hand. It is also recommended to use a Virtual Environment for testing to be able to always start from a clean base and avoid issues with write permissions in installations. On macOS, the command

creates a Virtual Environment named testenv for debugging purposes. Before building the first time, the module Sphinx should be installed into the virtual environment:

As an application developer whether computer-based or phone-based it is very much important to know the different kinds of frameworks on which these applications can be built. Also, it is necessary to know multiple programming languages so that even if one fails in developing an app in one language then he/she can opt for the other. As we all know that applications are everywhere whether be it phone or computer. Even the MS Office we use, Calculator we use, Chrome browser, Facebook, etc. all are some of the other kinds of applications. So, it is necessary to build these apps more robust to avoid any kind of discrepancy in the future. Today we will talk about the Python programming language on which application development is possible with different kinds of frameworks. These frameworks are preferred by Pythonists to make both .exe and .apk applications. So let’s discuss this one by one.

Kivy

Python Qt For Mac Os

This is the most preferred Python GUI framework upon which both computer and mobile applications can be built. It is an Open GL framework and comes in the form of a third party library manufactured by the Kivy community. This library contains various features that can help developers to build robust applications for their system. The Operating systems supported by this library are Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, ios, and Raspberry Pi. It is very fast in execution and contains interesting widgets that can make the application look more beautiful.

Tkinter

Tkinter is one more famous library in the Python app development world. This GUI Framework comes embedded with Python and there is no need to separately install the same. The library is used to build GUI applications for computers and does not support mobile app development. Tkinter framework is good for those who are new to Python and want to learn application development.

PyQT

PyQT is an amazing Python library used to build cross-platform applications both for computer and mobile and runs on the Qt framework developed by Nokia. This library comes under two versions that are paid and free. The main drawback of the free version is the limitation to features it provides but yes it is suitable for a beginner to start with the free version. The Operating Systems it supports are Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and Zaurus.

PySide

Python qt for mac os

This is yet another powerful Python GUI development tool that comes bonded with the Qt framework just like PyQT and helps developers to build cross-platform applications with ease. This also has a special feature that is, it easily blends with PyQT 4 and hence helps developers to switch from PyQT to PySide to build better applications. The Operating Systems supported by this library are Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and Maemo.

Conclusion

These are the best GUI frameworks that Python developers can use to build applications. Although there are much better programming languages that can build applications faster than Python, like Java, Dart, and Flutter, Node, etc. This is because Python works under an interpreter and while these languages work on compiler and therefore there is a huge difference in speed and also memory storage. But, yes if you want to develop applications using Python then these above-mentioned frameworks are worth trying.
